Today is EARTH DAY and all the children have been learning about how we can protect our Earth!  /

Our Pre-School is a registered charity run by a Committee of volunteers made up of parents of children either currently attending pre-school or who did so previously. We depend a lot on the volunteers and without the Committee pre-school would not be able to operate.

We would encourage all parents (and non parents) to consider becoming one of the Trustees. This is a key opportunity to make a difference and have an impact on the running of the Pre-School. Becoming involved is rewarding, sociable, fun and very interesting. For more details please talk to the Pre-School Manager or click this red button to get in touch. Thank you for your interest!

Hi, I am Julia. I moved to Pitstone with my family 7 years ago. Having had experience with other childcare settings I was fascinated by how amazing and well organised Windmill pre-school is, and also that it's run by a group of volunteers. When my youngest started attending Windmill I responded to a call for volunteers and joined committee as a trustee, keen to support.
My professional background is in Cinema Technology. Those projectors in the cinema showing movies on a big screen, that's what I do. I specialise in Operations Management and have worked in different countries over the years.
I think what Emma and her wonderful team are doing is fantastic. We all have a chance to be part of it, contributing whatever time and skills we can to help develop and grow our beautiful pre-school. This committee experience is absolutely rewarding, and I feel like I am giving back to the community.
We are always on the lookout for new committee members and/or volunteers to help with pre-school events. If you have questions, please contact me at julia(at)windmillpreschool.co.uk.

Hi, I am Lisa. I was brought up amongst the surrounding Chiltern hills with farming life, horses and running so to finally find a home in Pitstone in 2018 was amazing. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming with a real community feel.
I have three children, my two older children attended Windmill Preschool and really flourished. My middle daughter truly found her feet and voice and both were so well prepared for big school. My youngest daughter is almost 2 and is already on the waiting list.
I am a registered qualified veterinary nurse and a registered animal medicine advisor. I have been qualified for over 14 years and work part time for a local equine veterinary practice.
We have two guinea pigs who roam in the garden and a beautiful but slightly crazy Red and White Irish Setter. We all very much enjoy the outdoors on walks, runs or bike rides, you'll often see us climbing trees or scrambling round the chalk pit meadow and splashing in muddy puddles.
I also have experience in the catering and hospitality industry along with various forms of administration in telecommunications and the motor service sector. I bring my varied skill sets and expertise to the preschool committee and have a valued input into the behind-the-scenes processes.
I have been helping on the committee as secretary since February 2021. I work closely with the Pre-school manager and committee chair in preparing the agenda for the up-and-coming meetings, note down and write up the meeting minutes and circulate to all committee members.

Please consider joining our group and becoming one of the Trustees.

Hi I’m Hannah, I moved to Ivinghoe with my husband in 2020 (just before lockdown!). We have since had 2 children and I can’t quite believe how lucky we are to have such a fantastic pre-school on our doorstep. After giving up my NHS job just before having our second son, I’m looking forward to being part of a lovely team again and hopefully help make a difference. I couldn’t think of a better team to join to support our pre-school. Aside from being a mum of 2 brilliant boys, I am a coffee lover, love a pamper and enjoy baking, going for family walks and going to the theatre!
