My child has an inhaler which he/she may need during the session, what do I do?
Simply complete a Medication form. This will detail how and when to administer the medication and give permission for a member of staff to do so in your absence. All inhalers must be in their original packaging and has your child’s name and Doctor’s instructions on the packaging.
My child needs regular medication prescribed by the Doctor; will staff at Pre-school be able to give it to my child?
Yes of course, providing it is in the original packaging and has your child’s name and Doctor’s instructions on the bottle.
How will I know at what time you administered the medication?
If your child needs to use their inhaler or to have medicine at Pre-school, a form detailing this will be completed by a staff member. When you collect your child, you will be asked to sign the form and acknowledge that medication has been administered during the Pre-school session time.
My child is not feeling too well, are you able to give him/her Calpol?
We do have a policy on administrating Calpol in a emergency, please ask the Pre-School manager for more information. We advise if your child is not well, you should keep him/her at home until they feel better.
