What if my child is ill?
If your child is unwell and unable to attend a session, we need you to inform us via email or phone that same morning for the Pre-school records. It is important to note that it is Pre-school’s policy to exclude any child who has an infectious disease, anything ranging from sickness and diarrhoea to chicken pox and measles. The length of time a child will need to be excluded will depend on the illness and we take advice on this from the relevant authority. If your child has suffered a bout of sickness and diarrhoea or has started antibiotics, they must not attend Pre-school for 48 hours. In any event of illness please call the Pre-school Manager on 01296 661031 during session times.
Currently, we also have Covid-19 amendments in our sickness policy. Please ask the manager for the most up to date version of this.
What if we want to take our child on holiday in term time?
If your child is going away on holiday, please inform the school as far in advance as possible so that we can record this on the register. For funding purposes, all absences must be recorded. If a child is absent without a reason, the funding may be reclaimed by the local authority. In this situation it will be the parent’s responsibility to cover the cost.
