Parent Information - Introduction

Windmill Pre-School recognises that parents are the first and most important teachers of your child. We wish to share that responsibility with you in providing care and education for your child and at the same time invite you to become involved with Pre-school as much as possible.

As a result, we have created this area of the website specifically for parents with children already attending our Pre-school.  Here you will find everything you need to know about what your child is doing at Pre-school this term including theme topics, our Parent Helper Rota and the latest 'Word from Windmill' newsletter.  To encourage you to visit and use the website we will keep this information regularly updated.

In addition, Windmill Pre-School depends on parents being involved at all levels, and we have a number of ways in which this can be achieved.  Joining the Parent Helper Rota gives you the perfect 'bird’s eye' view of life at Pre-school. By volunteering for this, you gain a real understanding of your child's time in our care, as well as providing a very positive experience for both you and your little one. 

We encourage parents to be involved in their child's development and time at Windmill Pre-school as much as possible.  Every day we open the door 15 minutes early to allow you to join us at Circle Time and to discuss areas of concern with your child's key worker.  In addition on the first session of each month, we allow parents to stay for an hour, either at the beginning or the end of the session.  This extra time enables you to get really involved with the children's activities and understand more about Pre-school.  We also hold Parents' Evenings once a term, which gives you another opportunity to discuss your child's progress with their key worker and review their Record of Achievements book.

And of course we continually encourage new parents to join the Voluntary Management Committee.  Becoming involved in this way allows you the opportunity to make a very positive impact on the running of Windmill Pre-School.
