Meet the Team

Windmill Pre-school is run by a team of highly dedicated and trained staff. With NVQ2 or equivalent as a minimum qualification (with just one exception) you can be assured that the children in our care have the very best support. Each Pre-school session is led by the Pre-school Manager or Activity Leader, supported by three or four assistants. This means that the ratio of staff to children remains high, giving us the opportunity to really observe your child to ensure that their individual needs are constantly met. Each child will be allocated a key worker, a specific member of staff who will be your main contact on a day-to-day basis. Over time, parents will be encouraged to regularly discuss their child’s progress with their key worker and develop a strong two-way relationship with them. In addition to the team of paid staff, Windmill Pre-school is operated by a voluntary Management Committee. Mainly consisting of parents, members of the elected Committee are the Trustees of the setting and are responsible for all decision making relating to the running of the Pre-school, for example, assisting the Pre-school Manager in the strategic management of the setting (e.g. staffing, premises, equipment and hours of opening) grant applications, funding and administration as well as fundraising, marketing and PR, and event organisation.
Being a member of the Committee is an extremely worthwhile activity, enabling parents to have some influence over their child’s early years’ education and have a real and positive impact on the way in which Pre-school is run.
