Funding and Fees

15 hours funding

All children attending Pre-School from the term after their 3rd birthday are eligible for 15 hours of free pre-school provision known as Flexible Free Entitlement.  They are eligible for this until they commence full-time primary education.  You can use your child’s 15 hours of funding across any of the sessions we offer.  E.G 5 mornings a week for 3 hours; 4 mornings a week with 3 lunch hours.  You can choose how to make the most of your child’s 15 hours of funding.

No child may claim funding for more than 15 hours in any week even if they are attending more than one setting. Please let us know if your child attends any other setting.

Dates for Eligibility of 15 hours funding

A child born on or between 1st April and 31st August will become eligible for funding from 1st September following their 3rd birthday.

A child born on or between 1st September and 31st December will become eligible for funding from 1st January following their 3rd birthday.

A child born on or between 1st January and 31st March will become eligible for funding from 1st April following their 3rd birthday.

If your child is offered a funded place, you will be asked to complete a Parent Declaration Form and bring in proof of your child’s date of birth (Birth Certificate or their Passport).

Your child is welcome to attend Pre-School for more than 15 hours per week, We are open for 30 hours per week including lunch clubs. You will currently be charged for any hours over the 15 hours of funding at a rate of £4.80 per hour.

With the new government proposal to give eligible families 30 hours funding, Windmill will be supporting this initiative. Please speak to the Pre-School Manager for details.

 

Fees for Non-Funded Children / Children in attendance for more than 15 hours per week

Windmill Pre-School welcomes non-funded children from the term after they turn 2 on a fee paying basis (providing we have sessions available after admitting funded children). Fees are charged on a session basis (based on our standard hourly rate) and are calculated and invoiced for each half term.

The current fee* for a morning session (3 hours) for a non-funded child is: £15.00

The current fee* for an afternoon session (3 hours) for a non-funded child is: £15.00

The current fee* for a lunch club (1 hour) for a non-funded child is: £5.00

If your child starts with us as a fee paying child, Windmill Pre-school will inform you as soon as your child becomes eligible for Government funding.

*Session fees are reviewed annually

 

Lunch Club

Subject to availability, Windmill offers an additional lunch hour to morning sessions.  Lunch club takes place every day from the end of the morning session: midday until 1.00pm. This gives your child the opportunity to eat with their friends and experience lunchtime in a school environment. You will need to provide your child with a packed lunch.

You are able to use part of your child’s 15 hours of funding for lunch club as the children continue their learning and play after they have finished their lunch.
